What do you think?

Have you seen the article in Time Magazine yet about a growing group of mothers who prefer to "exclusively pump"? These mothers have decided for various reasons that they would rather pump and bottle feed than put their infants to the breast. Seems there are varying opinions on whether this is as beneficial as actually feeding from the breast. For example, breast feeding trains the infant to eat the appropriate amounts at feeding times and only eat until they are full, which decreases the risk of obesity later in life. The potential problem with this when "exclusively pumping" is that the infant eats the whole bottle every time and therefore eliminates that early training of portion control in the infant's eating habits. Every nursing mother, whether exclusively pumping or traditionally breastfeeding on the breast, needs certain tools of the trade.
